He Gives Me Grace

James 4:6 / New King James Version: He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble"

Maybe you have heard stories of people suffering tragedy, or maybe you are living through a tragedy yourself.  Either way, if you had been told you would encounter tragedy, you would probably have thought, There's no possible way I could go through that.  And you would be right.  You couldn't.  You couldn't watch a loved one suffer, couldn't handle losing someone close to you, couldn't continue if your family turned against you.  Why?  Because you had not yet been given the grace to walk through that situation.

Do we really believe that people who go through tragedy and come out stronger on the other side are any different than ourselves?  That they are superhuman somehow?  They aren't.  They just got to a place they recognized their desperate need for God's grace in their circumstance - and they asked him for it.

God doesn't call us to walk through seasons of difficulty on our own.  He desires to pour out his  grace on us.  When we need more, he'll pour out some more. And still more.  His grace is limitless.  His only requirement for ample grace is humility.  When we stop thinking we can get through life just fine on our own, he stands ready with his grace.

Have you found yourself in a situation that seems far beyond your scope?  There is grace for that.  Admit your weakness and ask for God's grace.  The moment you ask, his grace is yours in the precise measure you need it.
