Psalm 17:6 / The Living Bible - "Why am I praying like this? Because I know you will answer me, O God! Yes, listen as I pray"
There are those days when words fail us. We can barely string a coherent sentence together, let alone articulate exactly what we need. Grief has found us and it seems to have taken over our ability to think, or speak or pray. Tears roll silently down our cheeks, our heart aches, and still no words come.
Be encouraged. Not only does God hear your prayers when they tumble clumsily from your lips, he knows what you need prior to you asking. He is aware of what you require to get through today before you can put it into words. But what happens when you do finally put your words to your thoughts? Does it seem completely inadequate? It does not matter. God heard your heart!
Your prayers, no matter how unintelligible they seem to you (or others), are heard and understood by God. Let your heart be filled with peace as you silently acknowledge your need for him. Your message to God is not lost in translation. He interprets it perfectly every time.
How does this encourage you to keep praying?
