He Is Kind

Psalm 37:23-24 / New International Version - "The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.  Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the LORD holds them by the hand"

Holding hands is a beautiful act when done in love.  We might hold hands with a child to cross  the street, to help an aging stranger off of the bus, or to embrace even the smallest part of our beloved while strolling through the park.  We grasp hands for a moment, and give safety, kindness or affection through the simple act.

Can you imagine that God's hands in this same act is extended to those who put their faith in him? Surely his sons and daughters need the spiritual comfort, guidance and fellowship of God's hand more than any other.  And we can be certain that God delights in extending his hand to us as well.

Take comfort in this kindness:  God is a caring Father and leads us rightly.  We cannot fall when we follow his lead because his loving grip will never let us go.  As children trust the hand that leads them safely across the busy street, so we can trust God's kindness. He is gentle, thoughtful, and compassionate, delighting over us.

Can you say yes to his hand, extended gently to you?  Will you walk with him, soak in his presence, and share his kindness?
